All BRAHMA Wheel Locks include a lug nut cover dish and adjuster block to ensure that the lug nuts cannot be tampered with to simply remove the wheel. The standard cover is bowl-shaped and requires approximately 4 inches clearance between the surface of the lug nuts and the cross arm of the lock. This spacing is ideal for the most common, pressed steel wheels, where the lug nut surface is recessed.
Alloy rims, or "mag" wheels, often found on higher end trailers and RVs, typically have lug nuts that are recessed into the face of the wheel and a wheel face that is closer to flush with the sidewall of the tire, similar to most automotive wheels. This may not provide sufficient clearance to use the standard 4 inch deep lug nut cover dish included with the lock. The WL001A shallow or "flat" dish cover plate is only 1 inch thick and will fit alloy rims effectively, using the supplied adjuster block.
If you have aluminum alloy wheels, we recommend that you order this "flat" dish lugcover when ordering your lock. That way you will have everything you need when the lock arrives and will avoid paying extra shipping charges later. If you find that it was NOT required, you can return it via mail for a full $29 refund.
