Brahma Wheel Locks are now available in a KEYED-ALIKE (KA) version. If you want to order multiple locks that will all open with the same key, you can order this version WL001KA. You won't have to keep track of which lock is which and manage multiple keys for multiple trailers.
While this is a significant benefit from a convenience standpoint, please be aware that as part of their design, Brahma locks are not able to be re-keyed, so losing control of a single key may expose all same-keyed units to risk.
This isBRAHMA'sWL001KAwheel lock, the most popular selling unit, sized for trailers with 15 and 16 inch wheels.
If unsure of what size lock you will need, tire sizing is shown on the sidewall of your tires, and expressed in a format similar to "ST205/65R15". (Width in MM. / Height-to-Width Ratio /Wheel Diameter in inches.) If you are not able to view your trailers' tires directly, the information is contained on the trailer manufacturer's specification sheets, manuals and/or website.
Fitment Note - Please Read
While the majority of 15 & 16 inch tire/wheel combinations are supported, the WL001 does have a maximum width and height that it can be adjusted to. Typically, the WL001 will fit up to 235 series tires. TheWL001will fit tires sized up to 9.25 inches wide (235 mm.), sidewall-to-sidewall and from a MINIMUM 24 inches in diameter to MAXIMUM 31 inches in diameter. (This can be measured simply from the ground to the top tread).Tires of lesser dimensions are supported byBrahma's WL002for 13 & 14 inch wheels.
ALSO, please review the optional "Flat" Lug Nut Cover page to see if this will be required for your installation.
Brahma'slocks are manufactured from high strength, heavy gauge steel which has been hardened in critical areas, such as the lock housing. Painted a vibrant orange, they are astrong visual deterrent. We recommend that the lock be installed on the trailer side most visible to passersby.
A properly installed Brahma Wheel Lock prevents the locked wheel from rotatingin two ways; the flanges on the locks arms will dig into the road surface and the lug nut cover will bind up inside the rim, locking the wheel in place. Attempting to drag a trailer with aBrahmalock in place makeslots of noise!
The wheel's lug nuts are protected from tampering by the dish-style cover plate, which is secured in place by the lock's cross arm so that thelocked wheelcannot be removedand/or replaced.
Brahmalocks remain effective even if the tire has been deflated in an effort to remove the lock. The steel bands within the tire make it rigid enough for the lock to stay in place and the weight shift caused by deflation causes the wheel dish to bind up inside the rim. Evenwith the tire deflated, the lock cannot be removedand will remain effective.
Wheel locks should always be applied to a rear axle wheelof trailers with tandem axles. If affixed to a wheel on the front axle, thieves can raise the hitch until the front axle tires are off the ground and tow it away on just the rear axle wheels, rendering the lock ineffective.
